Job Summary
The Junior Warehouse Supervisor oversees daily warehouse operations to guarantee precise, efficient, and prompt receipt, storage, picking, and dispatch of stock. This role supports the Senior Warehouse Supervisor by organizing daily activities, guiding team members, upholding company standards, and maintaining high levels of inventory accuracy, productivity, safety, and customer service. The position is operationally driven, focusing on executing daily plans, resolving initial operational challenges, and ensuring all tasks meet company standards.
Minimum Requirements

Education: Grade 12 / Matric Certificate.

Qualifications: A relevant qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Warehouse Management, Operations Management, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum of 3 to 4 years of experience within a warehouse, logistics, or distribution setting.

Leadership: Prior experience leading or supervising a small team is advantageous.

Skills: Demonstrated experience in stock control, inventory management, and overall warehouse operations.
Key Competencies

Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Hands-on experience utilizing warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems, or dedicated inventory management software.

Ability to prepare reports and analyze warehouse data effectively.
Key Responsibilities and Deliverables
Warehouse Operations

Supervise day-to-day activities of the warehouse team.

Allocate daily tasks and monitor employee productivity.

Ensure accurate receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch of stock.

Monitor workflows to guarantee operational deadlines are met.

Assist in identifying opportunities to enhance warehouse efficiency and productivity.
Inventory Management

Oversee stock control processes to maintain inventory accuracy.

Supervise regular cycle counts and physical stock takes.

Investigate and report any stock discrepancies, shortages, damages, or variances.

Ensure stock is stored properly and inventory records remain up to date.

Monitor stock movements to ensure all transactions are processed correctly.
Team Leadership

Provide daily supervision, guidance, and support to warehouse staff.

Monitor attendance, punctuality, and productivity levels.

Train and coach new and existing employees on standard procedures and best practices.

Foster teamwork, accountability, and a positive working environment.

Assist in managing employee performance and resolving operational issues.
Health, Safety, and Compliance

Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations.

Conduct routine warehouse inspections to maintain a secure working environment.

Report accidents, incidents, and safety hazards promptly.

Maintain high standards of general housekeeping throughout the facility.
Administration and Reporting

Complete and maintain warehouse reports and operational records.

Assist with the preparation of productivity, stock, and performance reports.

Communicate effectively with procurement, logistics, customer service, and other departments.

Escalate operational challenges and risks to management when necessary.
Continuous Improvement

Support the implementation of process enhancements.
