Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, testing, diagnosing/troubleshooting, repairing, and accurately grading electronic devices and home appliances according to internal functionality and cosmetic standards. The product range includes, but is not limited to, computers, gaming consoles, smart watches, televisions, audio equipment, refrigerators, washing machines, and other household appliances.

The role requires a strong focus on computers and gaming consoles, where advanced technical expertise is advantageous. The Technician will coordinate incoming and outgoing repair activities, collaborate closely with subcontractors, suppliers, and agents, support supply chain operations, maintain strict quality standards, and minimize returns.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Matric

  • Technical certification, diploma, or relevant qualification in Electronics, IT, or a related field (advantageous)

Minimum Requirements

  • Valid code EC driver’s license

  • Fluent in English with strong verbal communication skills for interacting with internal and external customers and suppliers

  • Highly organized with the ability to multi-task effectively

  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently

  • Proven experience working with computers, gaming consoles, and electronic devices

  • Practical knowledge of testing tools and repair techniques

  • Sound understanding of electrical and electronic systems

  • 2 to 3 years of technical repair experience (advantageous)

Key Responsibilities and Deliverables

  • Daily processing of orders, management of relevant ordering systems, and completion of procurement and warehouse procedures

  • Assess, test, and diagnose faults on incoming electronic devices and appliances

  • Repair and refurbish products to meet strict functional and cosmetic grading standards

  • Accurately grade products based on internal criteria

  • Perform quality checks to ensure all repaired items meet required specifications

  • Maintain detailed records of assessments, repairs, and parts used

  • Identify recurring faults and provide constructive feedback for process improvement

  • Manage turnaround times in line with operational requirements and service level agreements

  • Ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained and used correctly

  • Assist in parts management and reporting of defective components

  • Work closely with procurement, warehouse, and service teams to ensure alignment on product quality and availability

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the technical and operations environment

  • Ensure strict compliance with health and safety standards

  • Assist with ad hoc technical projects and reporting as require
