We are seeking a Regional Sales Manager to oversee the sales force within a defined regional territory. This role involves managing sales operations, meeting targets, and leading the sales team in the region. You will support the bank’s initiative to deliver a multi-channel distribution capability to its customers and provide supervision to subordinates.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Support the bank’s drive towards a more diversified customer base, channel, and product capability, and assist in implementing the branch component of the bank’s strategy.
- Ensure the region meets assigned targets across all product categories.
- Develop region-specific plans to drive customer growth, retention, and revenue.
- Plan capacity requirements and ensure branches have suitably skilled staff to meet customer service and sales expectations.
- Oversee scheduling within the branches to achieve contribution and targets for all products.
- Plan productivity targets and deploy daily, weekly, and monthly prioritised work schedules with appropriate deadlines and input levers.
- Monitor and review productivity progress against deadline targets and output levers.
- Develop and implement operational improvements to reduce non-value-added activities that negatively impact customers.
- Influence, manage, and embed change to meet current business requirements.
- Implement operational improvements to reduce risk, minimise costs, and enhance performance.
- Foster a high-performance team and promote a culture of performance standards, values-driven work ethic, and excellence.
- Develop and implement initiatives to enhance sales performance, operational risk and compliance, branch profitability, productivity, customer service, and product diversification.
- Ensure all processes result in high-quality outcomes and customer satisfaction, adhering to the company’s internal controls framework.
- Optimise branch profitability based on local market potential and customer needs.
- Ensure recruitment and employment processes comply with company procedures and current employment law.
- Establish goals and objectives for yourself and your team, focusing on improving job performance.
- Promote operational best practices and performance standards, identify individual training needs, and implement, monitor, and review training plans.
- Achieve targets related to service, customer growth, sales, staff engagement, learning and development, personal development, costs, compliance, and risk management.
- Monitor and address employee performance, conduct annual appraisals, and maintain records as per company procedures.
- Manage employee discipline and grievance issues, liaising with HR and maintaining appropriate records.
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
- Intermediate skills in analysing, coping with pressures and setbacks, delivering results, meeting customer expectations, leading and supervising, planning and organising, and presenting and communicating information.
- FSCA-aligned qualification at NQF Level 7 with RE 5 and RE 1 (Key Individual).
- 8 years of management experience in a branch or equivalent experience within banking or retail distribution.
